10/9/08 Presentation to the Aerial Archaeological Research Group (AARG) annnual conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

A paper was presented at the AARG conference by Robert Shaw focussing on the Discovery Programme's research into the use of high resolution LiDAR data to create detailed 3D models of archaeological monuments. The presentation concluded with a a brief introduction to the share-IT project - an outline of the aims and objectives, and some of the issues considered to date.

The audience was from a number of European countries and there was particular interest in the share-IT component of the presentation. Questions included how had we persuaded the archaeological community to 'share' data; issues surrounding copyright and metadata standard; and could the system be widened to include 'Europe-wide' data.
