05/09/08 Presentation to the COST A27 action final meeting held at Pingvellir World Heritage Site, Iceland.

A paper was presented at the COST A27 meeting by Anthony Corns and a Spanish colleague, Miguel Lage Reis-Correira comcentrationg on landscape data within Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI's).

Anthony used this oppportunity to outline to the COST A27 members - landscape specialists from around Europe - the concept and practical application of an SDI, with reference to the work being undertaken in the share-IT project.

Great interest was expressed during the questions following the presentation, particularly on the concept of encouraging sharing data. From this discussion it was apparent that problems accessing spatial data is a major issue around Europe and the COST A27 group were encouraged by the share-IT approach, and its potential application to the EU as a whole.
